It is extremely sharp at all focus distances. It also has weather sealing, and, continuing in the delightful trend from the 14-24mm ART, it is fully compatible with Canon's Lens Aberration Correction (only the second third party lens that this is true of). But are these things enough to make the 70 ART Macro worth adding to your kit?

Additionally, the superior weather resistance of Sigma's Sports line means you can take your 70-200mm f/2.8 out in the field with peace of mind. Combined with the 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN Art and the 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art, these three zoom lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras with a bright f/2.8 constant aperture cover a wide range of focal.

It's a successor to a near identically-named lens from December 2009, the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM, but is smaller and lighter, uses revised optics, and has a new cosmetic design. Prior to this Sigma made the unstabilised 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC, a lens which was very highly regarded in its time.

The Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art is quite small and compact for a premium macro lens, weighing 515g and measuring 10.6cm in length, making it well-suited to being used hand-held as well as on a tripod or other support.

There is a second reason for removing the hood for macro shooting, as it would obscure the distance and magnification markings that are engraved on an inner barrel that extends forwards some.

The 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E-Mount from Sigma is a versatile wide-angle to portrait-length zoom characterized by its f/2.8 constant maximum aperture. The design suits working in available lighting conditions while affording increased control over depth of field. More lightweight and compact than similar 24-70mm lenses.

Smaller in size than you might expect, the Sigma 70mm f/2.8 Art Macro shares the same matte black stylings of the entire lens lineup and holds itself in a rather compact design. But compact only when not in use. When in use, the barrel will extend, quite a bit in fact, that helps achieve the macro functionalities of the lens.

Posted: Thu Nov 25, 2010 2:10 pm Post subject: Sigma Zoom Master 35-70mm f2.8-f4. I got this lens with a camera body , lens is fungused a bit + aperture stuck at wide open. I thought this is a nice door stop only and perhaps I will throw out or I will disassemble it to study how a zoom lens is built. I did make a series with 35 and 70mm.
